Soumpin is a private scheduling tool run by UMH Digital. We use it to plan and publish pins to our own Pinterest accounts. It is not a public service: only people from our team can log in. Soumpin is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pinterest.
What Soumpin stores
- Pinterest access tokens. When a team member connects a Pinterest account through Pinterest's official login (OAuth), Pinterest gives Soumpin an access token and a refresh token. Soumpin never sees or stores a Pinterest password or session cookies.
- Basic account details: the Pinterest username and profile picture of the connected account, to show which account is connected.
- Board names and IDs of the connected account, so pins can be scheduled to the right board.
- Pins we schedule: the images we upload and the title, description, link and alt text we write for them, the planned publish time, and the ID Pinterest returns after publishing.
How it is used
This data is used only to publish our scheduled pins to the connected Pinterest account at the chosen time and to show us the status of our queue. Soumpin reads boards and creates pins and boards; it does not read other people's data, follow accounts, comment, message or change account settings.
Where it is stored and who can see it
Everything is stored in a database on our own web server, outside the public web folder, and is only reachable after logging in. Tokens and data are never sold or shared with third parties. The only service Soumpin sends data to is the Pinterest API, to publish pins.
Retention and deletion
- Disconnecting Pinterest in Soumpin's settings deletes the stored tokens immediately. Access can also be revoked at any time in Pinterest under Settings → Security and logins → Apps.
- Deleting a pin in Soumpin deletes its text and image from our server (a pin that was already published stays on Pinterest).
- On request we delete all data related to a connected account within 30 days.
